Prerequisites: Reliable name recognition & basic obedience commands. No reactive dogs.
Description: You’ll learn the concepts of agility training & handling in a fun and rewarding environment. In the Introduction to Agility class, dogs will learn how to shape & perform obstacles safely, with both the dog & handler learning to work together as a team. Lessons may include body awareness, targeting, and an introductory use of equipment: jumps (low or no bars), tunnels, tires, weave poles, teeter, and more.
Requirements: You’ll need to arrive with your dog on an appropriate collar with a lightweight, six-foot leash, non-crunchy treats, poop bags, & a positive attitude!
Hint: Don’t feed your dog too close to training time! A hungry dog is an easier dog to train!
Note: There must be at least three dog & handler teams for this class to go forward; class size limited to ten dog & handler teams. All visitors / participants must sign the Carolina Canine College waiver & provide current vaccination records for each dog upon first registration. No refunds; no exceptions.
